wednesday night wind up.

how weird has the weather been today? i feel like i have experienced all four seasons in one day, crazy! well, today & tonight was quite productive... i went to work, i baked, almost finished my Dorothy & Evelyn order, had takeaway for dinner (tisk, tisk!) loaded the dish washer, posted some etsy orders and yes...made another couple of cards! hhmmm i can see a trend forming here! nope, no use of button in these, just a couple of old favourite characters printed onto a beautiful craft card. i think they are kinda cute? maybe some matching button badges, gift tags, mini cards, postcards, quote cards, wrapping paper.... slow down its all still conceptual for now.

a delightful weekend.

So, this weekend i got a year older, had a surprise limo ride + fab dinner (best lamb ever!), attended a beautiful wedding, ate a whole lot of junk food, contemplating my new branding, started my new stock for dorothy&evelyn and made a card!
Below is the cute card I made it measures about 12.5cm square and is based on one of the birds from my canvas art. Yes I am still a little fixated with the whole sewing thing... I thought I might have some better luck combining it with paper something i know a bit more about.
It turned out okay, i think contrasting papers might be the go next time. I think i might give this card to my mum for mothers day, I might ad in a printed piece of craft card for the greeting. I quite like the button flower (simple stitches, my kind of sewing!) maybe i might do a couple with really large colourful button flowers....anyway mum i hope you don't read this or it might ruin the surprise handmade card!

I can feel a button phase coming on...

easter weekend...mmm chocolate...

what have i done this weekend? a lot! asides from eating mountains of chocolate and celebrating Easter with family and friends...
i went to spotlight on Saturday and bought a few bitsnpieces, i always feel like such a fraud when i visit this store mainly because i don't sew, and somehow i think everyone there knows that and so i always feel like i have to pretend to know how to sew and all about sewing stuff? crazy, i know! anyway i thought i would give the sewing thing a crack this weekend i made the giraffe finger puppet pictured below, which i sewed by hand (don't ask how long this took me, and don't look too closely!) which is okay for my first attempt i guess?

I made this rack pictured below to display some of my canvas art, instead of packing it into plastic crates and storing it under my desk!

On the weekend i also found my cute babushkas, i bought these in (i think) 2005 whilst on holiday, i finally found where i had stored them and now they have top spot of my cabinet of cute things.

I have started working on some champ + rosie stuf nothing to show yet, just revisiting my branding and packaging. I have been feeling that they aren't really reflecting the cute bubbly feeling of the champ + rosie characters so, i have set about fixing it, along with looking at my website. I would love to have all of this up and running by next upmarket!
well, it is 5.16pm and the long weekend of cute bunnies + chocolate seems to be officially ending...the words 'oww, work tomorrow...' are starting to come out of my mouth and I am now asking myself 'what should I take for lunch tomorrow?' let the working week begin......
